31 to 40 defensive prospects

Over the past week I have looked at the top 30 defensive prospects. Today, I will look at the 31st to 40th prospects for defense in the 2012 NFL Draft.

31. Baker Steinkuhler, DE/DT, Nebraska: Steinkuhler will likely not declare but if he does he should be a second round pick.

32. Marcus Forston, DT, Miami: Forston could end up much higher on this list but he has not impressed me that much from what I have seen.

33. Josh Robinson, CB, Central Florida: Robinson has really impressed me from what I have seen. I think he could be a huge steal on Day 2.

34. Robert Lester, FS, Alabama: Lester and Barron are the best college safety tandem there is. Lester is more of the big hitter type and could be the first free safety taken next year.

35. Coryell Judie, CB, Texas A&M: Judie has been very impressive in the limited film I have seen on him. He is great in man coverage and is a very good tackler.

36. Jayron Hosley, CB, Virginia Tech: Hosley is great in special teams, great in zone coverage, and is a great tackler. He needs to improve his man coverage to be a first or second round pick.

37. Kheeston Randall, DT, Texas: Randall has good size and seems to be a great prospect for the 4-3 UT. He is a good pass rusher from the inside and can also stop the run.

38. Brandon Jenkins, DE/OLB, Florida State: Jenkins is one of my favorite 3-4 OLB prospects in the 2012 Draft. He has great speed off the edge and has a good set of moves.

39. Billy Winn, DT, Boise State: Winn can eat up runners and is a decent pass rusher from the UT in a 4-3.

40. Kawann Short, DT, Purdue: Short is a better pass rusher than Winn but not nearly as good against the run.

He’s a bit of a liability in the run game, but his potential in the pass game was enough for Buffalo Rumblings.
