Post-draft questions: NFC East

The 2011 NFL Draft is over, but every team still faces questions. Over the next week, we'll present a question for each team. Each team's success may depend on finding an answer. Today, the NFC East.

Dallas Cowboys
Do the Cowboys have the right talent in the secondary? The team's interception rate picked up some last season, but the secondary has been a problem for a few years. The free safety position is up in the air, and current cornerbacks Orlando Scandrick and Terence Newman could get a look there. If either is moved, though, the corners take a hit. Dallas took cornerback Josh Thomas in the fifth round, but it's hard to see him providing much help as a rookie.

Washington Redskins

Is this the worst-run team in the NFL? Considering the situations last year with

Donovan McNabb

and

Albert Haynesworth

, it’s not looking good in Washington. Add in a questionable first two picks and you’re left scratching your head. Oakland may be a joke, but at least they have a clear vision? What is Mike Shanahan doing with the Redskins?

New York Giants

Should the Giants have addressed the offensive line earlier in the draft? The Giants’ draft was filled with a lot of great value picks, including second-round pick Marvin Austin. But the offensive line in New York is old. James Brewer was a solid pick in the fourth round, but Marcus Gilbert might have been a better on in the second round. Quality depth, at least, may come for New York via free agency.

Philadelphia Eagles

Who is the third cornerback?

Asante Samuel

is clearly the team’s No. 1 corner and

Joselio Hanson

probably played his way into a top spot. But in a league that runs so many three-receiver sets, Philadelphia needs another top corner who can cover. Curtis Marsh is a developmental third-round pick,

Ellis Hobbs

is questionable after his season was ended by injury and Dmitri Patterson just wasn’t very good.
