List of pitchers with more than one no-hitter

Update 4/21/2016: Jake Arrieta joins the list with a no-hitter over the Reds, his second no-hitter in as many seasons.

Update 10/3/2015: Max Scherzer no-hit the Mets on the final Saturday of the regular season, his second no-no in the same season, to go along with his June 20 no-hitter against the Pirates.

Update 6/25/2014: Tim Lincecum has no-hit the Padres for a second time in two years.

Update 7/2/2013: Homer Bailey just threw the second no-hitter of his career and joins this prestigious list.

Justin Verlander threw the second no-hitter of his career, mowing down Blue Jay after Blue Jay with a 100+ MPH fastball. He became the 26th pitcher in MLB history to throw more than one no-hitter. The full list:

Nolan Ryan (7)
Sandy Koufax (4)
Bob Feller (3)
Larry Corcoran (3)
Cy Young (3)
Jim Bunning
Steve Busby
Mark Buehrle
Carl Erskine
Allie Reynolds
Warren Spahn
Bill Stoneman
Bob Forsch
Pud Galvin
Ken Holtzman
Randy Johnson
Addie Joss
Dutch Leonard
Jim Maloney
Christy Mathewson
Hideo Nomo
Virgil Trucks
Johnny Vander Meer
Don Wilson
Roy Halladay
Justin Verlander
Homer Bailey
Tim Lincecum
Max Scherzer
Jake ArrietaHalladay’s second no-hitter was in the playoffs, pitching one against the Cincinnati Reds just months after a perfect game against the Florida Marlins in May.

Verlander’s first no-hitter was in 2007 against the Milwaukee Brewers. The longest gap between no-hitters was that between the first and seventh(!) from Nolan Ryan, whose first was in 1973 and last was in 1991.

Only five pitchers have thrown more than two no-hitters, so with Verlander only being 28 years old, every start he makes from now on will have an added measure of interest. Only five more to catch Nolan Ryan there, Justin!
