The slightly straw-mannish pipe dream of full cost-of-attendance scholarships for college football players has made its way to the annual conclave of SEC coaches in Destin, Fla. NCAA president Mark Emmert has already pooh-poohed the idea, but Steve Spurrier floated an interesting proposition at Wednesday’s meetings: Have the coaches themselves pay players $300 a game.
