UFC 138 Fight Card: Junior Dos Santos Vs. Cain Velasquez On Tap

According to a report by the Los Angeles Times, UFC 138 will take place at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California on November 19th. The report states UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez will face number one contender Junior dos Santos for the UFC heavyweight title. The report relies on the statements of Ultimate Fighting Championship CEO Lorenzo Fertitta.

Velasquez has been out of action since taking the title from Brock Lesnar at UFC 121 in October of 2010. Dos Santos emerged as Velasquez's top contender after battering Shane Carwin over three rounds at UFC 131 to take a unanimous decision win.

Velasquez has been sidelined after a severe rotator cuff and labrum injury to his right shoulder necessitated injury. SB Nation MMA recently examined the potential implications of Velasquez’s ability to compete based on known medical science regarding the surgical procedure and rehabilitation.
