Brian Campbell signed an eight year, $57 million contract with the Chicago Blackhawks back in 2008 when Dale Tallon was the general manager of the team. Now that Tallon is the GM of the Florida Panthers, the two are going to be reunited as the Blackhawks are sending Brian Campbell to the Florida Panthers for Rostislav Olesz.
NHL Trades: Brian Campbell Dealt To The Florida Panthers
Campbell has been in the NHL for 11 seasons, with the last three being with Chicago. During his career, Campbell has 54 goals and 312 points in 626 games and scored 27 points in 65 games with the Blackhawks last season. Olesz only appeared in 44 games for the Florida Panthers, getting six goals and 17 points during the season.
The Campbell trade allows the Blackhawks to clear some cap space to sign key players like Patrick Sharp while it gives the Florida Panthers a chance to spend to the cap floor.
