Austin Hatch, Michigan recruit, involved in second plane crash

Tragic news is even more tragic when it befalls a kid, and that is what has happened Saturday. Michigan basketball recruit Austin Hatch is in serious condition after being involved in a plane crash that claimed the lives of his father and stepmother.

Unbelievably, this is the second plane crash Hatch has experiened. In 2003, he and his father survived a plane crash that killed his mother, his 11-year-old sister, and his five-year-old brother.

Hatch is currently hospitalized in “serious” condition. We hope for a speedy return to health physically, and we know the the Michigan program and community will be there for him. For more, check back later with our Michigan blog, Maize N Brew.
