Wednesday’s Wimbledon Schedule And TV Coverage

Gentlemen’s quarterfinals play begins Wedesday, Day 9 of Wimbledon 2011 at the All England Club, with tournament action beginning at 7 a.m. EDT. The remaining eight players in the men’s draw will compete on Centre Court and, assuming the weather holds, Court No. 1. Today’s TV schedule (view the full fortnight’s schedule here):

• 7 a.m. - 10 a.m.: ESPN2
• 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.: NBC
• 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.: ESPN2

2011 Wimbledon matches can also be viewed for free online on ESPN3. Live scores can be found throughout the day on the tournament’s official website.

Scheduled quarterfinals matches on Centre Court:
• No. 3 Roger Federer vs. No. 12 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga
• No. 4 Andy Murray vs. Feliciano Lopez

Scheduled matches on Court 1:
• No. 2 Novak Djokovic vs. Bernard Tomic
• No. 1 Rafael Nadal vs. No. 10 Mardy Fish

Fish is the lone American remaining in either the men’s quarters or women’s semis. The other U.S. hope for a victory at SW19, the 2006 men’s doubles championship duo of Bob and Mike Bryan, have encountered a comically protracted series of rain delays this week, and were tied in the fifth set of their third-round match against Simon Aspelin and Paul Hanley, 6-3 4-6 6-7(5) 6-3 3-3, before inclement weather forced them off the court Tuesday afternoon. They’ll play the last of their match Wednesday on the No. 2 Court.

Stay tuned to this StoryStream for results from Day 9 of Wimbledon 2011 as matches are completed.
