Brewers Vs. Yankees: New York Sweeps Behind CC Sabathia’s Strong Start

CC Sabathia matched a career-high with 13 strikeouts and Mark Teixeira belted the 300th home run of his career, as the New York Yankees blanked the Milwaukee Brewers, 5-0, earning a three-game sweep.

Sabathia was thoroughly dominant in 7-2/3 innings work. He gave up a scant six hits and two walks, improving to 11-4 overall.

In the third inning, teammate Mark Teixeira led off with his 25th home run, which leads the league. Robinson Cano added a two-run double for the Yankees, sealing the victory.

The Yankees have now won five straight and nine of 11.

Milwaukee's Randy Wolf picked up the loss (6-5), allowing four runs on seven hits, striking out three. Teammate Ryan Braun extended his hit streak to 20 games, going 3-for-3 on the day.
