Jeff Peterson Transferring To Florida State For Senior Year

Former Arkansas point guard Jeff Peterson announced Wednesday that he was transferring to Florida State to fulfill his final year of eligibility. The transfer will be Peterson's second, as the six foot guard jumped from Iowa to Arkansas after his sophomore year.

In doing so Peterson is exploiting an NCAA rule that permits players who have attained their undergraduate’s degree early to transfer to another school in order to pursue a master’s degree. He will be enrolled in the Florida State’s College of Business marketing program.

“Florida State gives me an outstanding opportunity to help me continue to further my academic goals,” Peterson said in a statement released by Florida State. “In evaluating the opportunities that were in front of me, my desire to earn a master’s degree in marketing helped lead me to FSU. The marketing master’s program within the business school at Florida State will give me the tools necessary to enhance myself and earn another outstanding degree. The basketball program and coach Hamilton speak for themselves. Florida State has all of the things I am looking for.”

Peterson averaged 6.3 points and 2.4 assists over 23 starts in his only year with the Razorbacks. He plans to challenge senior Luke Koucks and sophomore Ian Miller for the starting point guard position.
