The first day of the 2011 NCAA baseball regionals is in the books and only one No. 1 seed, and host team, was knocked off. Georgia Tech earned the dubious distinction, falling victim to Austin Peay in Atlanta in a 2-1 loss. Other than the Yellow Jackets slip-up, the other 15 hosts sit at 1-0 in the double-elimination mini-tournament ahead of Saturday’s wave of games.
Just like Friday, games will be ongoing throughout the day, with the first beginning at 12 p.m. EDT and the last set to start at 11 p.m. EDT. Once again, all 64 teams will be in action across 32 games at the 16 regional sites. Teams that fall to 0-2 will be eliminated, while the rest move-on for the frantic final two days with a spot in the Super Regionals hanging in the balance. A full schedule of Saturday’s games can be found here, along with the bracket after day one.
