Nationwide heads to New Hampshire: The New England 200 Preview

New Hampshire Motor Speedway, this 1.058 Mile Raceway is home to the New England 200. The past four years of racing have been rather sedated but before that, races at New Hampshire were crash and caution filled events.

Past winners that are entered in this race include; Kyle Busch who for the past two years has been the man to beat, Kenny Wallace who took the event in 1991, Joe Nemechek won the next year in ‘92, David Green won in 2003, and even driving lesser equipment is still a threat to win, Carl Edwards won in 2006, and in ‘07 it was Kevin Harvick who took the checkers.

Nationwide Races as of late have been some great events and this race should continue the trend. Yes, Busch, Harvick, Logano and Edwards are favorites this week, but you can’t count out Sadler and Sorenson. I would also say that Kenny Wallace could be a dark horse this week.

Only 42 cars entered this week which means everyone will make it. Just a few notes this week:

#04- Go Green Racing enters an obvious start and park this week. Efland could turn this into a full race run if sponsorship is found.

#23- David Green is entered in R3 Motorsports’ Chevy. Green could be a start and park, but his experience may prove enough to give the struggling team a boost.

#30- ARCA driver Mikey Kile makes another start for Turner Motorsports this week. Kile is a young up and comer, and could be a full time Nationwide driver next year.

#39- Matt Frahm, a young driver with only 3 starts in the K&N series, will make his NASCAR Debut this week for Go Green Racing. It also means that Josh Wise is without a ride for the first race this season.

#44- Angela Cope makes another start this week with TriStar Motorsports. No word on if Amber Cope will also make a start this week.

#46, 47, 42- Key Motorsports yet again disgraces NASCAR rules with three start and park entries this week.

#67- Fresh of his win in the Canadian Tire Series, Andrew Ranger will start for Go Canada Racing instead of JR Fitzpatrick.

Join us this weekend for a live thread of the NASCAR Nationwide Series race live from New Hampshire! Tune in to ESPN at 7pm eastern this Saturday for the New England 200! Enjoy!
