Rajon Rondo’s Elbow Still Causing Him Pain

Rajon Rondo's injury in Game 3 against the Miami Heat may be one of the most visibly gruesome NBA injuries of the past decade, especially to those in Boston. The continual replays of the All-Star Celtic point guard's elbow slowly dislocating back behind his arm sent many a queasy shiver down the stomachs of the faint of heart.

So it may not surprise some that Rondo is still feeling the effects of the damage two months later. The 25-year old spoke about it Wednesday afternoon to ESPNBoston.

“It’s the most pain I’ve ever been in playing ball. I’m feeling a little pain now, but the swelling is down. The only thing is there’s swelling in my joint. I’ll be fine, it just takes time. I’ve got a couple more weeks that I’m off, as far as rest and the repetition of weights.”

While that is surely not what the Celtic faithful would have liked to hear, it is to be expected with an injury of that magnitude. Besides, who knows, Rondo may have a year or two to sit out and heal it up.
