UCF QB Jeff Godfrey Arrested For Driving With Suspended License

University of Central Florida quarterback Jeff Godfrey was arrested last Saturday on one charge of driving with a suspended license, Susan Jacobson of the Orlando Sentinel reports.

Godfrey booked early Sunday morning and released on $250 bail. He is due to appear in court on August 5.

A UCF police officer pulled Godfrey over late Saturday night. In his report, the officer knew that Godfrey’s license had been suspended because he had pulled him over the same violation in April. Godfrey’s license was suspended on May 25 after failing to pay two traffic violations from 2009.

A 19-year-old Miami native, Godfrey was the Conference USA Freshman Player of the Year in 2010 after completing 159-of-238 pass attempts for 2,159 yards with 13 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Godfrey added 566 yards and nine touchdowns rushing.

UCF head coach George O’Leary was “aware of the situation and has spoken with Jeff in regards to correcting his driver license status”, a spokesman said.
