Buffalo Sabres Re-Sign Jhonas Enroth To Two-Year Deal

The Buffalo Sabres have agreed to a two-year contract with restricted free agent goalie Jhonas Enroth, according to reports. Enroth is expected to serve as Ryan Miller's primary backup for the oncoming NHL season.

Enroth was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres with 46th overall pick of 2006 NHL Entry Draft. Considered by many to be the top European goalie prospect available at the time, the 23-year old Swede first entered the National Hockey League in 2008. After three year mainly spent with Buffalo’s AHL squad -- the Portland Pirates -- Enroth was called up to the Sabres midway through last year.

In the final half of the 2010-2011 campaign, Enroth replaced Patrick Lalime as the Sabres' backup goalie, eventually moving into the starting role after an injury sidelined Miller late in the season. He exceeding the team's expectations, posting a 9-0-2 record, including his first career shutout, and a 2.73 goals-against average in 14 games last season.
