Tyler Thigpen, Buffalo Bills Agree On Three-Year Deal, According To Report

Omar Kelly reports that the Buffalo Bills have agreed to a three-year deal with quarterback Tyler Thigpen, formerly of the Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs.

Tyler Thigpen has agreed to terms on a three year deal with Buffalo. He’s reuniting with Chan Gailey, his former OC in Kansas City.

Given his familiarity with Gailey and his previous experience as a starter (with the Chiefs in 2008), the mobile Thigpen should make a good backup to Ryan Fitzpatrick, although there's some chance he could usurp Fitzpatrick with a strong camp. Thigpen apparently had no shortage of offers, and he could have stayed in Miami to back up Chad Henne, But, Kelly notes, Thigpen felt like he never got a fair shot to win the Dolphins' starting job. He played sparingly for the Dolphins in parts of two seasons.

The Dolphins, meanwhile, signed undrafted free agent Pat Devlin out of Delaware, and he’ll have a decent chance of making the team. They’re still looking for another quarterback to challenge Henne, however.
