Falcons, Matt Bryant Agree To Terms, According To Report

Veteran kicker Matt Bryant has agreed to re-sign with the Atlanta Falcons, according to reports by ESPN's Pat Yasinskas. Details of the deal are not yet available.

A longtime journeyman, Bryant began his career in 1999, playing for the Iowa Barnstormers of the Arena Football League. After a two-year hiatus, he continued with a brief stop with NFL Europe’s Frankfurt Galaxy.

In 2002 the 36-year-old finally reached the NFL, signing with the New York Giants. After jumping around to four different teams in eight years, to varied results, Bryant was cut by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Bounced from the NFL, Bryant revived his career in 2009 with the UFL’s Florida Tuskers. Following an extremely successful season, the kicker got his second chance in the league, signing with the Atlanta Falcons midway through the ‘09-‘10 NFL season. Bryant performed well enough to be kept on for the ‘10-‘11 season, in which he put up career-best numbers, completing 28 of his 31 field goals attempts (90.3 percent).
