Stephen Holder tweets that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have agreed to a huge deal with offensive guard Davin Joseph, strengthening their offensive line for the coming season.
Davin Joseph, Tampa Bay Buccaneers Agree To Deal, According To Report
Davin Joseph confirms to me he has agreed to terms on 7 year deal w #Bucs
Joseph himself, meanwhile, confirms that he’s sticking with Tampa Bay.
It’s official!! I’m a Buccaneer!!!
Joseph's contract is apparently for $53 million, which would have me overusing exclamation points, too. The Bucs were trying to sign tackle Doug Free, but they lost out to the Cowboys. Instead, they'll bring back Joseph and tackle Jeremy Trueblood (on a two-year deal) to help settle their offensive line. The signings (especially Joseph's) also help the Bucs to get nearer to the salary floor under the new Collective Bargaining Agreement - they were way under it.
