Hot Topics and Burning Questions of the Week (Indianapolis)

With such a broad range of storyline leading you to the blog, we can’t answer every question with a full-length post. This led me to create a post where I answer these questions in a “Question and Answer” style format with short compact explanations.
If the post is well-read and well-received, it’s something I’ll expand and continue.
Feel free to add to the discussion by sending emails to jmatthewweaver (at) aol.com or sending a tweet to @MattWeaverSBN on Twitter.

Who are the last 10 winners at brickyard 400? / Brickyard 400 previous winners?
The Brickyard began with a compatibility test at the Speedway in June of 1992 with nine NASCAR Cup series teams running laps around the 2-mile flat oval. The test was deemed a success and the first Brickyard 400 was scheduled for Saturday, August 6, 1994.
Jeff Gordon won that race (his second career victory) when race-leading Ernie Irvan suffered a flat tire with five laps left to go.
Other race winners include:
- Gordon: (1994, 1998, 2001, 2004)
- Dale Earnhardt: (1995)
- Dale Jarrett: (1996, 1999)
- Ricky Rudd: (1997)
- Bobby Labonte: (2000)
- Bill Elliott: (2002)
- Kevin Harvick: (2003)
- Tony Stewart: (2005, 2007)
- Jimmie Johnson: (2006, 2008, 2009)

How do I use NASCAR The Game 2011 downloadable content / How much does NTG DLC cost?
There are two different answers to this question depending on the system in which you own the game. The patch has already been released for the Xbox 360 and is currently available for download on the Marketplace for essentially $2.
This is in stark contrast to promises made by Activision and Eutechnyx that DLC would not have an added charge. This is especially frustrating considering NASCAR The Game 2011 wasn’t even commercially released with the 2011 season prior to updates.
Developer and publisher claim this as a Microsoft decision while some Microsoft representatives have been quoted as saying the decision was not theirs.
The Playstation 3 update will arrive sometime within the next week and is expected to be a free download on the newly restored PlayStation Store.
What are the latest Danica Patrick to NASCAR Rumors?
Patrick switched representation in 2009, moving to IMG who’ve reportedly pushed her to go NASCAR racing full-time in 2012. It’s all but assumed that she’ll be racing in the Nationwide Series next season.
The more important question is which team she’ll be driving for.
JR Motorsports has sounded like a questionable fit and her best suitor at Stewart-Haas Racing doesn’t have a Nationwide program.
Regardless of her decision, she’s still expected to race in the Indianapolis 500 for the foreseeable future.
Who is going to win the Brickyard 400?
Safe bets should be placed on Jimmie Johnson, Juan Pablo Montoya and Jeff Gordon.
What races have Juan Pablo Montoya run at Indianapolis?
Juan Pablo Montoya is the only driver to have raced in all three of the Speedway’s marquee events, including the Indianapolis 500, the Formula One United States Grand Prix and the 2000 Indianapolis 500.
He won the Indianapolis 500 in his only start as a CART regular and dominated the field to a tune of 167 laps led.
Who came up with kissing the bricks at Indianapolis?
Dale Jarrett won the Brickyard in 1996 and crew chief Todd Parrot suggested they kiss the bricks, giving birth to a new NASCAR tradition.
