Peyton Manning said that he isn't worried about being the NFL's highest paid player earlier this week as he would rather his Indianapolis Colts take care of the rest of the team's free agents as well. Regardless, Manning will still flirt with one of the best salaries in the NFL following the two side's agreeing to a $90 million contract on Saturday.

Manning and the Colts came to terms on a five-year deal worth a reported $90 million, according to ESPN's Chris Mortnensen. On average, according to the Tweet, Manning's new deal is equal to Tom Brady's salary with the New England Patriots.
Colts fans should certainly be happy about this new deal as SB Nation’s Stampede Blue wrote Friday that the issue of not being able to lock up one of the league’s best quarterbacks was making Indianapolis’s front office look incompetent.
The longer these questions linger, the longer Peyton goes unsigned and the Colts sit idle, the louder the whispers will grow that Chris Polian, quite simply, doesn’t know what he’s doing. It doesn’t matter if that criticism is fair or not. Perception is everything in this business, and the fact that it is taking this long to get this deal is not a good thing for Chris Polian’s reputation. People who cover the league are already asking me if this guy is as incompetent as he seems (as if I know or not; I’ve never met him).
Now it’ll be interesting to see if the Colts get more active in free agency since they have Manning locked up for the longterm.
