Richard Marshall, Arizona Cardinals Reportedly Agree To Terms
Cardinals reached agreement with former Panthers CB Richard Marshall on a one-year contract.
The Cardinals acquired Marshall after the departure of Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie in the Kevin Kolb trade. This move gives the Cardinals more depth at corner. It's unclear how playing time will shake out, particularly given that first-round pick Patrick Peterson hasn't signed yet, but the Cardinals are adding Marshall and Peterson to a group of cornerbacks that also includes Greg Toler. It's possible that the Cardinals will go with Marshall and Peterson as their starters.
In any case, this move gives new Cardinals defensive coordinator Ray Horton (formerly a secondary coach and, as a player, a cornerback) a bit more to work with. It also gives him a cornerback in Marshall who plays very physically, which is what Horton prefers.
