Though he missed the Arizona Cardinals' first practice today, third overall pick Patrick Peterson should be joining up with the team in Flagstaff soon. Saturday, he inked a five-year deal with the team and he is expected to meet up with the team on Sunday. The deal is reportedly worth $18.5 million, with the fifth year being a team option. It has not yet been disclosed how much of that money was guaranteed.
Patrick Peterson, Arizona Cardinals Agree On Contract, According To Reports
Peterson was an absolute superstar in the SEC while he played cornerback for the LSU Tigers and he will be expected to come in and contribute to the Cardinals immediately. They just traded away Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie in the Kevin Kolb trade, so he will have little time to ease into the NFL if the Cardinals want to compete for a playoff spot in the relatively weak NFC West.
