Oakland Raiders Re-Sign Safety Michael Huff

Michael Huff was expected to leave the Oakland Raiders in free agency this season, but apparently him and the Oakland Raiders had some mutual interest in each other after all. The former top-10 overall draft pick has reportedly re-signed with the Raiders, ending speculation linking him elsewhere.

Huff was a standout at the University of Texas and was expected to develop into a Pro Bowl-caliber safety in the NFL. He hasn’t lived up to those expectations, but it seems like he’s finally starting to come close to them and cement himself as a solid NFL starter. Last season was Huff’s best as a professional as he recorded career highs in sacks, interceptions and forced fumbles while also putting up good numbers in tackles and passes defensed while starting 15 games. Huff started his career as a strong safety, but appears to be much better suited to his new free safety role.
