The Washington Redskins have re-signed the last piece to their starting roster puzzle, right tackle Jammal Brown, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Jammal Brown, Redskins Agree To Five-Year Contract, According To Report
The Washington Post reports that the Redskins’ signing wasn’t exactly what Brown was looking for:
Brown prefers playing on the left side and entered free agency to see what opportunities might exist there, but he apparently decided his best chance at playing time was to return to Washington.
With Brown back on board, the Redskins have locked up every starting position on their roster. That is, if you count John Beck as "locked up" as the starting quarterback.
Brown has made two Pro-Bowls over his career as a member of the New Orleans Saints, and was sent to the Redskins in a trade before last season. He started 14 games despite a plethora of nagging injuries in 2010.
The news of Brown's re-signing comes on the heels of the announcement of a trade bringing RB Tim Hightower to D.C. for DE Vonnie Holliday, giving Brown one more person to block for.
