Logano goes for fourth straight: The Feed The Children 300 Preview

For the past three years, Kentucky has been dominated by Joey Logano. Logano has beaten the best of the best in the Nationwide Series and is coming off a surprise win last week at Daytona.

Kentucky is a site that you have to have a strong car and the right setup to win. Kentucky is a 1.5 mile asphalt track similar to other intermediate tracks that Nascar seems to have an undying love affair with.

Logano could turn a good Saturday into a great Sunday as all three series are at Kentucky this weekend. That means this race is stacked with Cup Drivers, but don’t count out the Nationwide Regulars.

44 drivers entered this week, so one driver will go home. Just a few notes this week:

  • #02- Jamie Dick returns this week in a self owned Chevy.
  • #7- Kasey Kahne makes his first step towards being a Hendrick driver as he takes the wheel of JR Motorsports #7 Chevy. Kahne is a favorite this week to give Jr his first win of the season.
  • #32- Reed Sorenson, despite being the points leader, yet again gets pushed from his team by Mark Martin. I would almost call into question Turner Motorsports’ dedication to winning a drivers championship with moves like this.
  • #39- Josh Wise is without a ride this week as ARCA pro Will Kimmel will make his first Nationwide start this week.
  • #47- Now it’s just getting sickening. Key Motorsports now has three start and park entries this week to support the #40 Chevy. It still shocks me that Nascar allows this to happen.
  • #64- David Reutimann makes another start for Rusty Wallace. Reutimann has been strong but not stellar this year and Kentucky could be just what the team needs to get it’s first ever win.
  • #70- David Stremme makes another start for ML Motorsports this week. Stremme is still looking for a run to set himself apart from the pack.

When Nationwide Racing heads North to Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve it will be the final race for Patrick Carpentier as he is retiring from auto racing. Carpentier is a part time Nascar driver and former Cart and IndyCar winner. He will be missed at the track.

Hit up Nascar Ranting and Raving this Friday for the Feed The Children 300 Live from Kentucky Speedway. Tune into ESPN at 7 pm eastern. Enjoy!
