Liverpool Vs. Sunderland: Suarez Glances Home Adam Free-Kick

12 minutes gone, and Liverpool take the lead at Anfield. A simple goal that will bring fury to Steve Bruce’s eyes – Liverpool won a free kick about 25 yards out on the right, and Charlie Adam swung in a fine delivery for Suarez to glance in at the near post. Well-executed, but poor marking from the Black Cats, particularly Kieran Richardson - not a good start from the former Manchester United man after giving away an early penalty.

So far, Liverpool’s new signings are looking good - Jordan Henderson looking very composed, and Charlie Adam spraying passes around as he was last season. It seems that an awful pre-season really does mean nothing - though there’s plenty of time for this one to change. Sunderland simply haven’t turned up so far, enjoying little possession and looking very shaky at the back indeed. Leaving David Vaughan on the bench could start to look like a big mistake at this rate.
