Ashley Young just barely clips Shane Long, who goes down and Young goes over to offer him a hand. There is nothing malicious in the tackle, nor is there anything overly dangerous, yet the referee sees fit to show him a yellow card. Just a minute later Tom Cleverley is running onto a good ball in the attacking third and James Morrison just clips his heels. Again, nothing malicious or dangerous, but it did stop Cleverley from racing in, which is more than could have been said for Long. Somehow, the referee decides not to give Morrison a card. Apparently this one is not like the other?
West Brom Vs. Manchester United: Sir Alex Ferguson Has A Chuckle At Referee
Sir Alex Ferguson couldn’t figure out why Young got a card while Morrison didn’t, but it’s too early in the season to get upset and berate the fourth official. Instead he just had a bit of a chuckle. He won’t be chuckling much if United cannot win today though, something that looks more and more possible the longer this match stays 1-1.
