West Brom Vs. Manchester United: Ashley Young Scores Possible Game-Winner In Debut

What's the best way to make a Manchester United debut? How about scoring the game-winning goal. That is a pretty memorable way to start off your Red Devils career and it is what Ashley Young may have today. The winger signed from Aston Villa has netted, with the help of a deflection, in the 81st minute to put United in front, 2-1. It came with the Red Devils looking less and less likely to win as West Brom was gaining traction in the match, but no matter. Young has himself a game-winner if the score holds.

Young had the ball on the left and started to cut in before quickly turning for the end line. He beat the defender cleanly and had his way towards goal from a sharp angle. Young hit the ball across, maybe a shot, but more likely a cross. It caught a bit of a deflection the found the side netting. It is possible that it is later overturned and ruled an own goal, but Young had no problem claiming it. He ran in front of the United supporters and threw his arms in the air, basking in the adoration of his new fans.
