Some of my favorite NFL Draft sites are those dedicated to a single team. Among the best is James Christensen’s NEPatriotsDraft.com.
Rock out with your mock draft out: Buffalo Bills Draft
Last month Christensen launched sites dedicated to fellow AFC East teams the Bills, Dolphins and Jets. Ran by Matthew Elder, the Bills one has been really good. Elder is perhaps the best small-school draft writer online.
He knows much more than just small-school talent, however, and shows it in his latest mock draft. Like many, he has Andrew Luck going first overall to the Washington Redskins.
I wanted to showcase this mock draft because of who else is worked into the first round. Iowa offensive tackle Riley Reiff has been in and out of first rounds I've seen, but here he goes second overall to the Bengals. Conversely, not in the first round at all is Southern California junior left tackle Matt Kalil.
Another Trojan junior, quarterback Matt Barkley, is also not in the first round. Ultimately, that's one of the troubles of doing mock drafts anytime that isn't between the second week of January and the end of April.
We know not ever junior will enter the draft, but it can be also fruitless to try and pick and choose who will stay in school. Because of that, if I ever do mocks before the underclassman declaration date, I include every junior.
But back to the interesting first-round admissions. Elder works Virginia defensive end Cam Johnson to the Chiefs, a good scheme fit. Another good, yet notable, fit is Rutgers junior wide receiver Mohammed Sanu going to the Browns. Sanu has incredible talent, but has been inconsistent.
