He's been deemed surplus to requirements, and Arsene Wenger has confirmed that the club has come to an agreement with Galatasaray over his transfer. The player still has to pass a medical and agree to personal terms, neither of which are believed to be complete at this time.

No fee information has been released by either club or reliable outlets in recent days, but previous rumors put the fee at around £4m. Arsenal are a club lacking in depth compared to the other so-called big teams and title contenders, so it seems curious that they would let a serviceable and versatile player walk for such a nominal fee unless Wenger believed him to be a distraction in the locker room.
