The combination of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery is back for Bayern Munich, but it's Bastian Schweinsteiger who has Bayern up by a score of 1-0 at halftime of their UEFA Champions League playoff round match against FC Zurich. For the opening 30 minutes of the half, Bayern battered their visitors and should have absolutely scored more than once. However, Mario Gomez missed multiple chances and Zurich started to look better at the end of the half, leaving many watching the game wondering if a change in momentum is coming.
Bayern Munich Vs. FC Zurich, UEFA Champions League: Halftime, Bayern Lead 1-0
Schweinsteiger scored the goal just nine minutes into the game, heading in a great cross from Robben. Gomez hit the post shortly afterwards, then proceeded to miss a few more chances. Zurich’s best chances came on set pieces, and they look capable of nicking a goal from a dead ball.
Bayern looked good for most of the first half and obviously have the talent to score a couple more times, but the tie could be turned on its head if Zurich nick an away goal in the second half.
