Patrick Carpentier To Retire After Montreal NASCAR Nationwide Race
↵
Patrick Carpentier, the Canadian open-wheel racer who tried unsuccessfully to transition to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, will call it quits after this weekend’s Nationwide Series race in Montreal.
↵Carpentier, 40, had a full-time Cup ride with Gillett Evernham Motorsports in 2008. But with an average finish of 30th as a rookie, he wasn’t given another chance and never got in competitive equipment again.
