Kansas City Chiefs Offensive Tackle Barry Richardson Signs Tender Offer

Kansas City Chiefs offensive tackle Barry Richardson signed his restricted free agent tender Monday morning, according to reports. The franchise had placed a second-round tender on the 25-year-old.

Drafted out of Clemson in the sixth round of the 2008 NFL Draft, Richardson surprised many during a rookie season that saw the offensive tackle actively participant in six games. Still, the experience wasn’t enough, and Richardson was waived during final cuts before the ‘09-‘10 season.

After re-signing to the team’s practice squad a day later, the South Carolina-native quickly worked his way back up the ladder, eventually playing in ten games -- including his first NFL start -- in the ensuing season. The next year Richardson improved once again, becoming the starting right tackle for Kansas City while playing in every regular season game for the first time in his career.
