The 12-team conference now unfortunately known as the B1G Ten hasn't received a whole lot of respect from the AP in their preseason poll for the 2011 college football season. The number of teams in the Top 25 - four - seems about right, but fans of both the Wisconsin Badgers and Nebraska Cornhuskers might feel a little bit disrespected, sitting on the fringes of the top ten.
College Football Rankings: Four Big Ten Teams In 2011 Preseason AP Poll
Nebraska are the highest ranked team in the conference, coming in at No. 10. Just behind them at No. 11 are the Badgers, who lost quarterback Scott Tolzien but acquired the services of transferring quarterback Russell Wilson.
The Michigan State Spartans return a strong team from last season and come in at No. 17, while the Ohio State Buckeyes - sans Jim Tressell and Terrelle Pryor - come in at No. 18. Penn State received 75 votes and just missed out on the Top 25, while seven people who were playing a practical joke voted for Michigan.
