If you have watched or listened to any sports this week you were sure to hear about Peyton Manning and his neck injury. Manning is questionable to start the season and that spells trouble for the Indianapolis Colts. Even if Manning is able to suit up the opening weekend he will have a young and questionable offensive line in front of him.
Anthony Castonzo’s Play Even More Important
Anthony Castonzo was selected in the 1st round by the Colts and is going to be asked to protect Manning's blindside. Castonzo is a well rounded tackle but his best attribute is his ability to protect the passer. However, every rookie makes mistakes and takes time to become completely comfortable. Take the neck injury out of the equation and you still need to worry about the health of the aging Mannnig. Look no further than the miss block by Chris Gronkowski that cost Tony Romo a majority of his season.
I am in no way saying that Castonzo will be responsible for a Manning injury but it definitely increases the possibility. His development and play will be something that plays a major factor in the success of this Colts football team.
