It goes without saying that Aaron Aloysius of Draft Breakdown is one of the best draft analysts online. Whether it’s cutting up game footage or doing written analysis, he’s thorough and thoughtful.
Rock out with your mock draft out: Aaron Aloysius
He put out a new mock draft recently, which you can see by clicking here.
The first thing that really pops out about this draft is Nebraska cornerback Alfonzo Dennard going fifth overall. He's picked far ahead of Alabama's Dre Kirkpatrick and Virginia's Chase Minniefield, both of whom I prefer over Dennard. In fact, Aloysius also project South Carolina's Stephon Gilmore higher than Kirkpatrick and Minniefield.
Another attention grabber is giving the Dolphins Southern California left tackle Matt Kalil. Aloysius reasons that with the rookie wage scale it's more affordable to bookend a tackle like Kalil with Pro Bowler Jake Long.
Humorously, he has speedy North Carolina linebacker Zach Brown going 10th overall to the Oakland Raiders. Mock drafts are largely a crapshoot. Brown to the Raiders almost seems like a certainty.
