Through 45 minutes of play, nothing has been settled between Chivas Guadalajara and Pumas UNAM. The two sides seem to be a bit concerned about each others’ attacking power and it’s been a slightly conservative match, at least by the standards of the Mexican Primera. Still, it hasn’t been poor as both teams are passing the ball well, keeping their shape well, and working hard to create shooting opportunities. It’s tied up at 0-0, but that likely won’t last long.

Martin Bravo has been easily the most active player for Pumas in the first half, creating three shooting opportunities, forcing Luis Michel into one save, and drawing a couple of free kicks in dangerous areas. Unsurprisingly, with both teams having extremely high quality players in the center of midfield, the game has been concentrated in that area for the most part. Players like ‘Paco’ Fransisco Palencia and Marco Fabian - each team’s key link between the midfield and defense - will need to up their game in the second half to open up the game and create more scoring chances.
