Ricky Williams: ‘Baltimore A Wonderful Way To End My Career’

Heading into the twilight of a bizarre career, Ricky Williams understands that the next few years may be his last in the NFL. After reviving his career with the Miami Dolphins, the former All-Pro was signed on Monday by the Baltimore Ravens and will serve as the back-up running back on what he hopes is a Super Bowl-caliber squad.

“Baltimore is a perennial playoff team,” Williams said Monday during a radio interview on WQAM-AM in Miami. “I’ve only been to the playoffs twice, and they were short trips. It’s a great opportunity, a wonderful way to end my career, so I am looking forward to it.”

Williams will likely replace Willis McGahee's spell-halfback/touchdown-poacher role on an offense that placed in the top half of the league in total rushing for each of the last five seasons. The noise you just heard was the collective fantasy groan from Ray Rice owners everywhere.

For more on the signing of Ricky Williams and how the former-Pro Bowler can impact the Baltimore Ravens, head over to Baltimore Beatdown.
