Jerricho Cotchery To Visit Baltimore Ravens On Tuesday
Sources close to the Ravens have indicated that Baltimore has an interest in signing the seven-year veteran, but the team is still evaluating its options. Should Cotchery sign with the Ravens, he would join a wide receiver corps led by three-time Pro Bowl selection Anquan Boldin and a slew of inexperienced youngsters.
Cotchery surprised many within the NFL community last week by requesting to be released from the New York Jets. The 29-year-old spent his entire career with the franchise, and was firmly entrenched as a chief locker room leader.
In his time with the Jets, Cotchery consistently provided quality play as a starting receiver, catching 292 passes for 3,370 yards and 16 touchdowns from 2006 to 2009. After struggling through the ‘10-‘11 season with a severe disc condition in his back, he opted for surgery to repair the damage in February.
