Busch wins as Championship Battle Heats Up: The Virginia 529 College Savings 250 Review

Kyle Busch won. That’s the same as any other week. But let’s look at the other 42 drivers in the race.

Ricky Stenhouse is becoming one of the most consistant drivers in the Nationwide Series and that’s the most important aspect of winning a Championship. Stenhouse clocked another top five this week. And he wasn’t alone as Ryan Truex has two top fives in two starts with Joe Gibbs Racing. Truex is making a case for a possible run with Joe Gibbs next season for the 2012 Nationwide Championship. Both Elliott Sadler and Reed Sorenson notched a top ten, so Stenhouse was not able to pull away as much this week.

Sadler is back 16 points, and Sorenson is back 45 points. Sadler could leave Chicagoland with the points lead if Stenhouse faulters, Sorenson will need more then one race to get back in the hunt. It’s two early to say Sorenson is done, but he needs some help. Here’s how the top 20 look:
