Arguably the two best senior quarterbacks will be on display when Oklahoma State plays at Texas A&M (3:30 p.m., ABC or ESPN2).
That would be Ryan Tannehill for the Aggies and Brandon Weeden for the Cowboys. Weeden is a rhythm passer who is hard to stop when he gets going. His arm isn't a cannon, but it's nice enough. Of the two, Tannehill has a better arm, and more touch on his deep passes.
Both are the beneficiaries of big-play first-round wide receivers. Tannehill looks good partially due to the play of Jeff Fuller. A big target at 6-foot-3, 220 pounds, Fuller get open with ease and has great body control to make tough catches. Oklahoma State's Justin Blackmon can do the same, but he's probably a touch faster. Both have exceptional hands to be a true No. 1 receiver at the next level.
Oklahoma State at Texas A&M NFL Draft watch notes
It’s hard to predict cornerback on wide receiver match-ups, but A&M would be wise to put corner
on Blackmon. Judie has nice hands for a corner and should be able to run in stride with Blackmon.
The Aggies also feature running back
, one of the nation’s top senior runners. Gray has had 100 yards rushing or more in nine straight games. He has good speed and elusiveness.
If you haven’t gotten a chance to key on Oklahoma State free safety
, do so today. He’s excellent in pass coverage and active when the ball is in the air. It wouldn’t be shocking to see him play cornerback at the next level.
The Cowboys also feature under-the-radar offensive tackle
. He’s a big body at 6-foot-5, 322 pounds. In the Oklahoma State scheme, he’s asked to play wide and move laterally.
