If I had told you a month ago that the Rays would come back from a seven-run deficit to win the wild card on the last day of the season, and that this would happen mere moments after the Red Sox suffered the worst collapse in their history, you’d say, “Tell us more about the future, strange traveler! What happens to my family? What of America?” And I’d say, “Just kidding. I don’t really know about the future.” Then you’d reply, “But you seemed to know a lot of details.” And then I’d race back to my time machine, because the first thing they told us not to do was tell people about what happens in the future.
