The unquestioned star and top NFL Draft prospect when Oklahoma State hosts Arizona (8 p.m., ESPN), is Cowboys wide receiver Justin Blackmon.
It's with just cause too. Blackmon had an astounding 2010 season with 111 receptions for 1,782 yards and 20 touchdowns. Blackmon considered entering the 2011 NFL Draft an only announced days before the early entry deadline that he was returning to school. He is an explosive receiver with solid big-play ability. The question about Blackmon is whether or not he's simply a product of a spread offense.
Blackmon isn't Oklahoma State's only viable NFL Draft option, however. Offensive tackle Levy Adcock impressively didn't allow a sack last season. He is at his best in pass blocking against speed rushers. He's agile and plays with good position. He struggles some in the run game, though.
Oklahoma State/Arizona NFL Draft watch notes
Senior Markelle Martin may be the best safety in the nation. Martin is excellent in pass coverage, in both man and zone situations. He routinely comes up in big games and really gave Arizona quarterback
trouble in last season’s Alamo Bowl.
Speaking of Foles, don’t forget about the separate post all about him. Oklahoma State has a solid quarterback in Brandon Weeden. He’s more of a later-round draft pick.
After Foles, Arizona’s top prospect is wide receiver
, but he’s out tonight.
