The Georgetown Hoyas weren't able to get many minutes out of all-around big man Henry Sims in the first half due to early foul trouble, opening up an opportunity for the N.C. State Wolfpack to take a halftime lead. It took them quite a while to make the move, but the Wolfpack leads 30-27 at halftime.
NCAA Tournament Scores: NC State Leads Georgetown At Halftime
The game wasn't particularly entertaining in the first half as neither team was able to show just how talented they are in a rather slow-paced game, but the Wolfpack took the halftime lead thanks in part to wing C.J. Williams. Williams scored a game-high nine points in the first half while teammate C.J. Leslie scored seven points -- including a breakaway dunk as the first-half clock expired -- to go with four rebounds and a pair of steals.
The Hoyas were led by Hollis Thompson and Jason Clark with six points apiece, but it was the absence of Sims -- who was scoreless with a pair of fouls and turnovers -- who made the biggest difference for Georgetown in the first half.
