The No. 2 Kansas Jayhawks and No. 10 Purdue Boilermakers met on Sunday night in the 2012 NCAA Tournament. The two teams were attempting to make it past the Round of 32 and make it to the prestigious Sweet 16. The Jayhawks entered Sunday's game as not only the No. 2 seed in the Midwest Region, but one of the favorites to win it all. Ultimately, Kansas needed a come-from-behind barrage in the final seconds to advance with the 63-60 victory.

Purdue held a six-point lead heading into halftime, but stretched that lead out to 10 points shortly after play resumed. The second half was hard-fought, but Purdue stayed ahead. In the last two minutes of play, Purdue was still clinging to a three-point lead and looking for their second straight upset. Kansas cut the lead to one point with 59 seconds left. Elijah Johnson stole the ball from Purdue and streaked end-to-end for a layup to put the Jayhawks ahead, 61-60, with 23.3 seconds remaining. The Boilermakers missed a three-point jumper and Tyshawn Taylor dunked to put the Jayhawks up by three with 2.5 seconds remaining on the clock. A Purdue three-point buzzer-beater missed and Kansas has secured the win.
