The Sweet 16 will be narrowed down to the Elite Eight Friday night, with the NCAA tournament's regional semifinals in the Midwest and South regions set to tip. There are no in-state matchups quite like Thursday night's matchup between the Cincinnati Bearcats and Ohio St. Buckeyes, but the faceoff everyone will be talking about is a rematch between the top overall seed, the Kentucky Wildcats, and the only team to beat them before the finals of the SEC tournament, the fourth-seeded Indiana Hoosiers, in Atlanta. That game will follow the conclusion of the game pitting the 10th-seeded Xavier Musketeers against the third-seeded Baylor Bears.

In the Midwest regional semis, the lowest remaining seed in the tournament, the 13th-seeded Ohio Bobcats, will take on the depleted No. 1 seed North Carolina Tar Heels, who could be without both point guard Kendall Marshall and big man John Henson. After that game, the Sweet 16 will conclude with the second-lowest remaining seed, the N.C. State Wolfpack, facing many folks' pick to make the Final Four out of the Midwest, the Kansas Jayhawks.
