Top-seeded North Carolina is clinging to a 42-41 lead and fighting for its tournament life against an Ohio team looking to become the first 13 seed to ever advance to the Elite Eight.
NCAA Tournament Scores, UNC Vs. Ohio: Tar Heels Cling To 1-Point Lead
No. 1 seed North Carolina is getting all it could ask for from 13th-seeded Ohio with a spot in the Elite Eight on the line.
The Tar Heels led 29-22 at halftime and extended that lead to 10 on multiple occasions, but the Bobcats -- who have trailed by as many as 15 -- shot their way back into the game with a three-point barrage. For the game, OU is 9-of-22 from beyond the arc.
Tyler Zeller is having a huge game for UNC. Through the first half, he already had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. He's up to 19 points now.
Ohio has remained in the game despite a 2-for-13 shooting performance from leading scorer D.J Cooper, who has just five points. Backcourt mate Walter Offutt has picked up the slack for the Bobcats, scoring a team-high 19 points on 5-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc.
It’s been the Tyler Zeller show for North Carolina. The senior forward has scored 19 points to go with 16 rebounds and three blocked shots.
The Tar Heels are playing without sophomore point guard Kendall Marshall, who suffered a broken right wrist in the round of 32 game against Creighton. All-American guard Harrison Barnes has not helped make up any of the void left by Marshall, scoring just three points on 1-of-11 shooting.
