With the No. 46 pick in the 2012 NFL draft, the Philadelphia Eagles selected California Golden Bears linebacker Mychal Kendricks. Kendricks was the 81st-rated prospect in the draft and the No. 5 inside linebacker, according to Mocking the Draft.

Kendricks might not have ideal height for an NFL linebacker, considering he stands just 5-foot-11, but he uses that leverage advantage as a positive and, according to a recent scouting report from Dan Kadar, he should be able to excel in the NFL.
Strengths: Kendricks is a stout, powerfully built linebacker who thrives on contact. Darts through gaps really well and is an underrated pass rusher. Has natural leverage. Solid tackler who doesn’t let the ball carrier get away upon contact. Makes plays all over the field. Solid speed. Should be able to play 4-3 Mike or Will or the 3-4 Ted.
Weaknesses: Has a hard time getting off blocks once he gets engaged. Will struggle in coverage against taller and faster pass catchers. Will be slow to react on pass plays. Wasn’t the primary signal caller on Cal’s defense.
The Eagles selected DT Fletcher Cox in the first round with the No. 15 pick.
