2012 NFL Draft Results: Bengals, Ravens, Lions Make Selections With Picks 83-85

The Cincinnati Bengals, Baltimore Ravens and Detroit Lions strengthened their teams in the 3rd round. The Bengals took a player who was the victim of a prank that made him think he was a first-round pick while the Falcons and Lions picked players from non-BCS schools.

With the 83rd pick, the Cincinnati Bengals added Rutgers wide receiver Mohamed Sanu, who was prank called on Thursday night and told he was picked in the late first round, coincidentally by the Bengals. Sanu had a big junior year for Rutgers before declaring early for the draft. The Bengals had previously selected CB Dre Kirkpatrick, OG Kevin Zeitler and DT Devon Still.

The Ravens traded up with the Atlanta Falcons and took Temple running back Bernard Pierce with the 84th pick. Pierce had a very good NFL Combine and put up spectacular numbers in 2011, racking up 1,481 yards and 27 rushing touchdowns. Earlier, the Ravens took OLB Courtney Upshaw and OT Kelechi Osemele

With the 85th pick, the Detroit Lions added Louisiana-Lafayette CB Dwight Bentley. The Lions had previously selected OT Riley Reiff and WR Ryan Broyles.
