NFL Draft 2012: Seahawks Thought Jets Would Pick Bruce Irvin At No. 16
Schneider said on SiriusXM NFL Radio on Monday that he thought there was a “good chance” the Jets would’ve taken him with the next pick.
Immediately after the pick I thought it was a major reach, the draft’s first big reach. But some of the comments following the pick have made me think Irvin was more highly rated among those that actually make the picks.

The 2012 NFL Draft is gone, and all that is left to do is analyze teams, assign grades, track undrafted free agents, and do things like examine where most of the players in the draft went to high school. Texas HS Football did just that, and found that the Lone Star State beat all comers.
In their listing of players selected in the 2012 NFL Draft by state, Texas placed first with 32 players selected, followed by Florida with 31 and California with 26. Ohio (18) and Georgia (13) rounded out the top five, and North Carolina (10), Illinois (eight), and Alabama and Washington (seven apiece) all had strong showings.

It was the SEC representing at the top of the round, with Justin Anderson from Georgia the first player off the board. This year’s Mr. Irrelevant, the honorary title bestowed upon the final pick in the draft, was Chandler Harnish, a quarterback from Northern Illinois.

Back in March, the Redskins traded with the Rams for the No. 2 pick in the draft. Shortly before the 1st round of the 2012 NFL Draft started, the Browns skipped up one spot by trading with the Vikings.
From there trades broke out all over the place. The Jaguars moved up to Justin Blackmon. The Cowboys shocking went from No. 14 to No. 6 for Morris Claiborne. The Eagles moved from No. 12 to No. 15 for Fletcher Cox. Lots of trade movement in the 1st round of the 2012 draft.
